Job Description

Zamfara State Government is hiring 500 new teachers as part of the 2025 First Phase recruitment. This is an opportunity for qualified individuals who want to start or grow their careers in teaching. The recruitment follows the Teacher Recruitment and Deployment Policy and Guidelines (TRDPG).

This job is for those who are passionate about teaching children in schools, especially in rural areas. The role involves planning and delivering lessons, helping students learn better, and managing classroom activities.

You will be required to teach specific subjects based on your qualification. These include English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Studies/ICT, and Entrepreneurship Studies.

Teachers will work during school weekdays from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Successful candidates should enjoy working with children and be patient, hardworking, and ready to learn.

Requirements

  • NCE, B.Ed, BSc.Ed, BA.Ed or BA/BSc with PGDE

  • NYSC Certificate or Exemption Letter (where applicable)

  • TRCN Certificate (advantage)

  • At least 2 years of teaching experience (advantage)

  • Strong results: Distinction, Credit, or Merit in NCE and First or Second Class in degrees

  • Must not be older than 40 years

  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (advantage)

  • Must be able to teach at least one of these subjects:

    • English

    • Mathematics

    • Biology

    • Chemistry

    • Physics

    • Computer Studies/ICT

    • Entrepreneurship Studies
